Eduard de Vries Sands
Interim CIO
Advantik
I am a business leader who leads technology, not a technology leader who understands business. As a 2025 ORBIE Global CIO Award Finalist, I have built my career turning technology into measurable P&L impact: driving top-line growth, expanding margin, and delivering outcomes that show up in earnings calls. Across Fortune 500 and PE-backed companies in healthcare, life sciences, and manufacturing, I have consistently delivered seven-figure EBITDA gains by running technology as an enterprise value portfolio, not as a cost center. My approach starts with the business outcome and works backwards. I do not measure success by projects completed or systems deployed. I measure it by revenue enabled, costs avoided, risks mitigated, and competitive advantages created. That means spending time in the field with customers, alongside sales teams, and on the shop floor, not just in the boardroom. I have led enterprise transformations at scale: SAP S/4 HANA across an $11B health system, commercial technology platforms serving 650+ life science organizations, and AI-enabled operating models that shift organizations from cost-driven to growth-driven. I partner with CEOs and boards monthly, speak the language of ROI and EBITDA, and build technology teams that own business results, not just backlogs. Currently I serve as Interim CIO at Avantik, a life sciences and laboratory solutions company, while advising PE-backed organizations on technology strategy and AI-enabled growth. I am pursuing my next permanent CIO or CDIO role with an organization that views technology as competitive advantage.
