Winner of the 2020 Houston CIO of the Year® ORBIE® Award, George Crawford is responsible for directing all technology, innovation & transformation, strategy, merger/acquisition integration, and cyber security for Catapult Energy Services portfolio companies. He joined Catapult in 2013 as Partner and CIO/CISO helping create the shared services platform company that was the foundation for the five OFS companies he helped start. Mr. Crawford was interim President and COO for Roywell LLC from 2018 – 2020, a Catapult acquisition. He has been consulting with and helping Private Equity groups create shared services foundation companies for over 20 years.  

Mr. Crawford grew up in Houston and completed undergraduate studies at University of Houston where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems with honors. He has served on many boards and advisory councils and currently serves as BOD President Emeritus for Houston Chapter of Society of Information Management (SIM), VP for ISACA Houston Chapter, Board Member for Hint Global Investments, member of LSC-UP’s President’s Community Advisory Council and on advisory boards for HBU, U of H, Lone Star College, Genesys Works, Cyber Houston and the NSF. As a member of the Greater Houston Cybersecurity Council, he works with C-Suites and BODs to help their companies and organizations ensure cyber preparedness.

He believes that we all have the ability to help others change their stars and is a strong supporter of our youth’s STEM based education, serves as a mentor for multiple education groups and agencies, and as a Co-Chair of SIM’s Golf Charity event and Outreach committees. George is an active speaker and panelist, and has been recognized for his achievements by being named 2016 and 2019 Leader of the Year by Society for Information Management.
