Jeffrey Artis is an accomplished business development executive passionate about improving economic opportunities for individuals to achieve sustained economic mobility. In his teens, Jeff was a beneficiary of the A Better Chance Program aimed at providing highquality educational opportunities for youth by connecting them to the country’s top secondary institutions. Through this experience, he saw first-hand the transformational impact of highquality education and professional networks on achieving sustained economic mobility. His participation in the ABC Program served as the foundation for his academic and professional accomplishments and sparked a life-long commitment to expanding opportunities for youth that not only prepare them to enter corporate America, but also offers the knowledge, support, and resources needed to thrive there. Jeff joined Genesys Works as President and CEO in January 2021 and is responsible for leading the organization through its next phase of growth, including expanding its geographical footprint and skilled development curriculums and strengthening its position as a strategic talent pipeline for corporate America’s diverse, professional talent needs. Prior to joining Genesys Works, Jeff spent seven years at the helm of Corporate Engagement for nonprofit Year Up, where he served as the architect of its enterprise growth strategy. He led a team of more than 100 employees in placing 3700 young adults into internships with top employers each year. Under Jeff’s leadership, Year Up grew its non-philanthropic revenue by more than 300%, generating $90 million in 2020 alone. Jeff has more than 40 years of experience leading workforce development solutions for Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies and leading sales for industry leaders like Agile-1, BMC and IBM where he achieved sales goals ranging from $50 million to $300 million a year. Jeff earned a B.A. in English Literature and Psychology from Williams College. He is a former board member of the Indianapolis Urban League. He is a native of Harlem, New York and currently resides with his family in Atlanta, Georgia.
