Kevin Hart
SVP Strategic Development and Technology

Kevin Hart is vice president and business information officer, Northern California region, at Kaiser Permanente.  Kevin leads the Northern California Business Information Office (NCAL BIO), which provides technology products and services in support of KP’s Northern California region’s mission to deliver high quality, affordable health care to its 3.5 million members.

Kevin is responsible for leading an organization of more than 600 employees who support the region’s 8,000 physicians and 65,000 employees, who provide world class, high-quality care in 21 hospitals and 300 medical office buildings.

Functioning as the regional CIO, Kevin and his team work in conjunction with health plan, hospital and medical group business partners to deliver local, regional and national IT initiatives, while also supporting the most innovative technology solutions in health care.

Kevin’s career as a leader in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), manufacturing, and high technology industries spans more than 20 years.  During this time, he has led teams that develop, implement and manage technology to provide competitive advantage for Fortune 500 companies, professional services organizations and start-ups.     

He began his career at Bechtel Corporation, working in multiple engineering and technology management positions for more than 10 years, including senior manager of corporate collaborative systems.

Following his time at Bechtel, Kevin held positions at several start-ups in the high tech industry. 

At iMotors, an early, online, direct-to-consumer automotive sales company, Kevin was director of Supply Chain Solutions, where he was responsible for providing integrated technology that enabled seamless integration from manufacturing to consumer sales.

As director of professional services at TRIRIGA, he developed and managed a nationwide professional services team that implemented integrated real estate/facilities management business solutions for large global companies.

Kevin joined Kaiser Permanente in 2006 as director of IT capital projects for National Facilities Service (NFS).  Under his leadership, the team established standard processes and innovative delivery methods for IT products and services in support of capital projects across all regions, reducing costs by $30 million. 

In 2009, Kevin was promoted to vice president and business information officer of NFS, where he was responsible for delivering IT products and services to support Kaiser Permanente’s $36 billion capital construction program.  During his tenure, the team provided industry leading technology solutions for new construction of 24 hospitals and more than 100 medical office buildings.

Throughout his career, Kevin has been known as a collaborative leader with a “big picture” vision and the ability to create and implement innovative strategies leveraging technology to add business value.

Kevin has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, with a minor in electrical engineering, from the University of Maryland at College Park.
