Matt Martin is the Chief Information Security Officer and Director of IT Security for Sidley Austin LLP, a leading international law firm with offices worldwide. Matt is responsible for all IT Security, Governance Risk & Compliance and Disaster Recovery efforts globally for approximately 4,000+ employees in over 20 countries. 

He has over 25 years of security leadership experience in the financial service industry, mostly at JPMChase and MorganStanley. He has served in numerous senior leadership positions and has led all aspects of the security organization including Cyber Security, Data Center Security, Engineering, Operations and Risk Management. Other experience includes roles as a software developer, Systems Engineer and Financial Services Specialist for a leading MSSP.

A skilled leader and exceptional manager, he has developed and mentored staff who hold senior security roles at high profile companies such as Facebook, the US DOE, BOA and several insurance companies and hedge funds. He has delivered numerous innovative security solutions coupled with exceptional operational processes and service.He has a BS Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Business Administration from SUNY Binghamton.

Outside of work, Matt is an avid movie buff, world traveler and enjoys spending time with his teenage children.
