Sandeep Uthra serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at OneAZ Credit Union, where he is responsible for safeguarding the credit union\’s sensitive member data and ensuring the integrity of its information systems. In this critical role, Uthra develops and implements comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, conducts rigorous risk assessments, and leads incident response initiatives to protect against evolving cyber threats. His responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with stringent financial industry regulations, such as those mandated by the NCUA and GLBA. Uthra\’s achievements at OneAZ Credit Union include significantly enhancing the organization\’s security posture through the implementation of advanced security technologies and protocols, fostering a culture of security awareness among employees, and establishing robust security governance frameworks. He has successfully navigated complex regulatory landscapes, ensuring the credit union maintains a high level of compliance and resilience.

Prior to joining OneAZ Credit Union, Uthra amassed extensive experience in cybersecurity leadership roles across diverse industries. His background includes significant tenures at financial institutions and technology firms, where he developed and managed comprehensive security programs. He has demonstrated expertise in areas such as network security, data protection, security architecture, and compliance management. His experience encompasses leading security operations centers, conducting penetration testing, and implementing security information and event management (SIEM) systems. Uthra\’s deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices, coupled with his strategic approach to risk management, makes him a valuable asset in protecting OneAZ Credit Union\’s digital assets and ensuring the trust and confidence of its members.

Education and Expertise

Uthra holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from Queens University, McColl School of Business and is a graduate of Amravati University, with a Bachelor of Computer Engineering degree. Uthra is also a certified Six Sigma Green Belt professional. In 2019, he was named winner of a prestigious Orbie Award recognition by the Charlotte CIO Leadership Association – in 2020, he joined the organization’s Board of Directors.
