Thomas H. Murphy in August 2012 was appointed Chief Information Officer for DaVita Inc., one of the largest kidney care companies in the United States. The Denver, Colorado-based company’s offerings include in-center hemodialysis, in-center nocturnal dialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home hemodialysis, vascular access management, chronic kidney disease education, and renal diet assistance. Murphy joined DaVita after an eight-year run as CIO at AmerisourceBergen, the $80 billion pharmaceutical services provider. Before leaving AmerisourceBergen, Murphy headed up ABC Integrated Business Services, a 175-person team that included 100 IBM Strategic Outsourcing and System Integration members. In that role, he spearheaded the company’s
efforts to encourage the medical industry to adopt new, online technologies. Murphy began his IT career with Marriott Corporation in 1984 and went on to serve as director of IT for Omni Hotel Group and Interstate Hotels before joining Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as CIO.
