It’s just the next feature that the company likely hopes will keep drivers flocking to Tesla’s cars,” he writes. “Next, Tesla will hold its 2021 annual meeting at the company’s new Gigafactory in Austin, Texas on October 7 at 5:30 p.m. eastern time. The choice of venue is telling. It’s Tesla’s second large U.S. manufacturing facility and the one that will be producing the Cybertruck early in 2022.”

Frankly, I am a bit concerned by Tesla’s truly unique and undeniably remarkable ability to leverage cutting-edge digital technologies and integrate them seamlessly into their automobiles. At this moment, it certainly appears that Tesla’s lead is widening.

Will the other car makers catch up? At some point in the future, perhaps. But it’s hard to imagine a scenario in which they outmatch Tesla’s sheer imaginative force and inventive spirit. Sometimes it really feels as though Tesla, Inc., is channeling the spirit of Nikola Tesla, the inventor it was named for.
