Sharon Gietl

The Doe Run Company

As The Doe Run Company’s Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, Gietl oversees the planning, implementation and management of the company’s information technology systems and strategic planning/enterprise project management office. She also is a member of Doe Run’s executive team.

Gietl spoke or was a panelist at recent mining technology and other IT related conferences and events.

Two recent articles written by Gietl in 2016 were published by CIOReview – “The Human Side of the Internet of Things” and “4 ‘Must Have’ Technologies for Metals and Mining”.

Gietl is one of the 2011 St. Louis Business Journal’s 25 Most Influential Business Women, a Computerworld 2010 Premier 100 IT Leader and a 2009 Strathmore’s Who’s Who recipient.

Her team’s been recognized as a 2010 PMO (Project Management Office) of the Year Award 1st Finalist and a member of the Information Week 500 List of Top Technology Innovators across America in 2011 and in 2012.

Prior to joining Doe Run, Gietl was the Director of Information Services for Bryan Cave, LLP in St. Louis.  She worked for Petrolite Corporation for more than a decade, most recently as Director of Administration. Gietl has also held various positions with Caterpillar, Inc. and The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
 

Gietl has a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Biology from Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa.
